Privacy policy

The short version

This website is an informational site for Byzantine Solidus, Inc. It has no user accounts, no forms, no comment sections, and it sets no advertising cookies. We collect almost nothing, because there is almost nothing to collect: the analytics cookies described below, and one functional preference — if you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so the site can honour it on your next visit. It never leaves your device.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic — page views, referrers, country, and device type. It is cookie-less and does not track individual visitors across sites; data is collected in anonymized, aggregated form. See Vercel’s privacy documentation for details on their processing.

We also use Google Analytics for the same purpose. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) in your browser to distinguish visits in aggregate reporting, and the data it collects is processed by Google. We use it to measure traffic, not to advertise. See Google’s privacy documentation for details on their processing.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, whose infrastructure necessarily processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to serve pages and protect against abuse, per Vercel’s own privacy policy.

Email

If you write to inquiries@byzantinesolidus.com, we receive what you send — your address and the contents of your message — and use it only to correspond with you. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to any list you did not ask to join.
